Klockwork Klose!

Germany striker MIROSLAV KLOSE (11) of Italian Serie A side SS Lazio Rome wins the aerial duel with Greece goalkeeper MICHALIS SIFAKIS of FC Aris Thessaloniki and defender KYRIAKOS PAPADOPOULOS of German Bundesliga club Schalke 04 Gelsenkirchen to score his 64th career international goal in the 68th minute of the 2102 UEFA European Championships quarterfinal match at the PGE Arena in Gdansk, Poland.

Considering the last goal scored for the German national side had arrived more than six long months ago, it would be understandable if at least a few people thought that KLOCKWORK KLOSE had quietly stopped ticking.

But there is a major international tournament being contested at the moment. And if there is one thing that veteran Germany Torjaeger MIROSLAV KLOSE truly does well, it is to get the ball in the back of the net at major international tournaments. Perhaps it really all was just as a simple as matter of time, indeed.

It certainly was a courageous decision by the German trainer JUERGEN LOEW to include the aging 34-year-old, Serie A legionnaire in the Startelf against Greece. After all, the record of three goals in as many Group B matches at the 2012 UEFA European Championships brought forth by Bayern Munich striker MARIO GOMEZ was not a bad one, then. Klose definitely came through with the goods, though, and notched his 17th career strike for Deutschland at a major international tournament (31 appearances) while heading what proved to be the match-winning goal against the Greeks in Gdansk.

A magical moment for the Polish-born goal-shark to always cherish and remember, then.
