National Team Record of Manuel Neuer

========================================================
Germany goalkeeper MANUEL NEUER was only chosen to assume the always pressure-packed mantle of first choice for the national side by trainer Juergen Loew just prior to the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup final tournament held in South Africa but the 26-year-old Bayern Munich shot-stopper certainly has not looked back while establishing himself as one of the world’s best between the sticks ever since.
========================================================

A youth team product of Schalke 04 Gelsenkirchen, MANUEL NEUER was still number one for the Koenigsblauen (Royal Blues) when debuting for Deutschland on the so-called Asian Tour in early June of 2009 against the national side of the United Arab Emirates in front of a sparse crowd of only 7,000 spectators at the Al-Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.

With Bayern Munich teammate MARIO GOMEZ (23) and defender PER MERTESACKER (17) of English Premier League club FC Arsenal looking on, Germany goalkeeper MANUEL NEUER confidently punches the ball clear from Israel defender RAMI GERSHON (5) of Belgian side Standard Liege during the international friendly at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig just ahead of the final tournament for the 2012 UEFA European Championships.

Neuer played every minute of every game as Germany won all ten of its qualification matches to reach the final tournament of the 2012 UEFA European Championships. The Bayern Munich goalkeeper conceded seven goals in those ten matches for Deutschland while blocking 27 shots (as credited by the official website of Euro 2012) to register a save percentage of 79.41%. Since falling to eventual-winner Spain 1-0 at the semi-final stage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, the talented Neuer has remained unbeaten on his last 17 starts between the sticks for the German national team.

Already to begin this 2012 UEFA European Championships, Neuer has figured very prominently for trainer Juergen Loew’s side while stopping 12 of 13 shots for a save percentage of 92.31% as determined Germany edged both Portugal and the Netherlands in its first two Group B matches.
