“Super” MARIO GOMEZ (23), the prolific 26-year-old poacher who bagged 41 goals in all competitions for Bayern Munich and added a further three tallies for the national team during the 2011/12 football season, is expected to start up front as the lone central striker for Germany, at least for the opening match with Portugal at the Arena Lviv in the Ukraine which will begin Deutschland’s journey at the 2012 UEFA European Champinships.
========================================================

Germany national team trainer JOACHIM LOEW has made nine changes to the 23-man squad which placed third at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa two summers ago. Appearing on the roster for Deutschland at the final tournament of a major international event for no less than the fifth time in what has already been a distinguished career is 34-year-old veteran striker MIROSLAV KLOSE of Italian Serie A side SS Lazio Rome. One new additions on the big stage for Germany is ANDRE SCHUERRLE, the exciting 21-year-old Bayer Leverkusen winger who has already scored seven goals for the national team and could feature prominently coming off the bench for Loew’s side during the 2012 UEFA European Championships.

========================================================
Trainer Joachim Loew and the national team of GERMANY will be counting heavily on legionnaire MESUT OEZIL (8) of 2012 Spanish La Liga champion Real Madrid to orchestrate the attack from his all-important central midfield position and steer Deutschland to ultimate victory at the 2012 UEFA European Championships co-hosted jointly by Poland and the Ukraine.
