Former Germany U-21 international striker NILS PETERSEN of Bayern Munich, who registered 25 goals for FC Energie Cottbus to lead the German second division last season, wins this aerial duel with defender DAVID PISOT of 2.Bundesliga club FC Ingolstadt during the D.F.B. Pokal 2nd round match at the Allianz Arena in Bavaria.

Rebounding from a disappointing loss over the weekend and fielding what amounted to a reserve side, Bundesliga leaders BAYERN MUNICH exploded for five goals in the second half to complete a thorough and decisive 6-0 defeat of 2.Bundesliga outfit FC INGOLSTADT 04 in the second round of the Deutscher Fussball Bund Pokal.

FC Ingolstadt, who finished 14th in the German second division last season, stayed with the 15-times German Cup champion for a little over a half an hour. But then Bayern Munich’s veteran Ukraine international midfielder ANATOLI TYMOSHCHUK played a ball to Germany international THOMAS MUELLER out on the right wing. A thrust into the penalty area and a shot which deflected off visiting defender DAVID PISOT allowed the leading scorer at the last FIFA World Cup final tournament to post his second goal in as many D.F.B. Pokal matches this term and stake Bayern Munich to a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute.

Austria international DAVID ALABA, who scored his first-ever Bundesliga goal for Bayern Munich just a few days earlier against Hannover 96, opened the floodgates with a fine run into the box and low, far-post shot four minutes into the second half. Deputy central striker NILS PETERSEN, who led the 2.Bundesliga in scoring last term before being sold to the record German champions for 2.8 million Euros this summer, added a couple of second half goals with a pair of left-footed efforts. And FC Ingolstadt compounded its own misery when defender MARVIN MATIP, the brother of Schalke 04 Gelsenkirchen’s Joel, put a ball past his own goalkeeper in the 82nd minute.

19-year-old Japanese winger TAKASHI USAMI, on loan in Germany for this season from J-League side Gamba Osaka, combined well with another second half substitute, 32-year-old veteran Croatia international IVICA OLIC, to waltz in and casually stroke past weary FC Ingolstadt shot-stopper SASCHA KIRCHSTEIN to score his first-ever competitive goal for Bayern Munich in the 90th minute.
