Another day, another hat trick for Real Madrid’s Portugal World Cup striker CRISTIANO RONALDO.

Back in November, the blog did a piece entitled “CRISTIANO RONALDO – 50 GOALS FOR LOS BLANCOS?” but, since articles here never seem to generate any comments despite more than adequate traffic, it is hard to known if the readership took that entry seriously. The regulars, of course, recognize the blog is, on occasion, more than capable of chicanery. But not in this case.

To review, in all competitions a season ago, Ronaldo scored 33 goals in 35 games for Real Madrid following a record-breaking transfer costing 80.0 million English pounds (or, 94.0 million Euros) from Premier League giant Manchester United in June of 2009.

This season, Ronaldo has already recorded 30 goals from 27 appearances (26 starts) in all competitions. Aside from the UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey tournaments, there are still a good twenty games left in the Spanish Primera Divison season. And, the 25-year-old Portugal international has already potted 22 goals in eighteen La Liga contests thus far this term.

In his first campaign with Real Madrid, Ronaldo scored 26 goals in 29 Spanish Primera Division matches.

Of course, Argentina World Cup striker GONZALO HIGUAIN has undergone back surgery and is unavailable to Real Madrid for the rest of the 2010-11 schedule…

2010-11 Real Madrid record

LA LIGA —— 22 goals – 18 games
EUROPE ——- 4 goals —- 6 games
COPA DR —— 4 goals —- 3 games

TOTAL ——- 30 goals – 27 games
