The galaxy of stars who had been scoring at a minimum under new manager JOSE MOURINHO finally broke out with a bevy of goals as REAL MADRID hammered visiting DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA 6-1 on the sixth matchday in the Spanish Primera Division.
Portugal World Cup star CRISTIANO RONALDO contributed a brace for Los Blancos, including the first goal of the game for Real Madrid in just the fourth minute of the match; Germany World Cup MESUT OEZIL scored his first career goal for Los Merengues to double the home side’s advantage in the 24th minute.
A pair Argentina World Cup squad members, midfielder ANGEL DI MARIA and striker GONZALO HIGUIN, also added goals for Real Madrid, who benefited from an own goal, as well.
It should be remembered that through the first five games to start the season before facing Deportivo La Coruna at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid had managed to score just six goals.
