Group Stage

2 – JK Besiktas Istanbul (TRK) ————– Holosko 55′, Bobo 64′

After falling behind a goal early in the second half, visiting Turkish side JK BESIKTAS ISTANBUL rallied quickly and defeated SK RAPID VIENNA 2-1 in Group L of the UEFA Europa League.

Portugal international RICARDO QUARESMA, who had unhappy spells with both Barcelona in Spain and Chelsea in England, had an unlucky evening in Austria — first the 27-year-old hit the post with a shot early in the match, then the winger was taken off injured just past the hafl hour mark.

Shorlty after the halftime break, Rapid Vienna drew first blood when VELI KAVLAK converted the cross of fellow 21-year-old Austria international midfielder YASIN PEHLIVAN for the Huetteldorfer’s first goal of the UEFA Europa League’s group stage.

But the lead for the Green-Whites would not last long.

Slovakia World Cup forward FILIP HOLOSKO, who had replaced the injured Quaresman in the first half, pulled JK Besiktas Istanbul level within four minutes.

Brazilian striker BOBO, who has scored 10 or more Super Lig goals the past four years in a row for JK Besiktas Istanbul, shot the Turkish team in front for good less than two minutes later.
