One goal at the opening of the second half and another towards the conclusion of the contest powered KKS LECH POZNAN to a 2-0 defeat of visiting Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in Group A of the UEFA Europa League.
Shortly after the halftime break, Lech Poznan’s Belarus international midfielder SERGEI KRIVETS uncorked a long-range effort that Red Bull Salzburg’s German goalkeeper GERHARD TREMMEL could only parry for a corner; veteran Colombian defender MANUEL ARBOLEDA headed in the ensuing kick to give the home side the lead in the 47th minute.
Lech Poznan put Red Bull Salzburg away when Poland international midfielder SLAWOMIR PESZKO pumped home the cross of Bosnia / Herzegovina international midfielder SEMIR STILIC from five yards out on the counterattack with ten minutes to play.
