Three goals from 21-year-old attacker RICKY VAN WOLFSWINKEL, including a pair of penalties inside the first twenty minutes of the match, underwrote FC UTRECHT’s 4-0 wipeout of visiting GLASGOW CELTIC in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League playoffs.
Van Wolfswinkel completed his hat trick and put FC Utrecht ahead on aggregate for good in the first minute of the second half following a feed from French forward EDOUARD DUPLAN, a recent signing from Sparta Rotterdam, on the heels of approach work from Ghana international midfielder NANA ASARE.
The former Netherlands U-21 international van Wolfswinkel now has scored six goals in six UEFA Europa League games for FC Utrecht this summer.
20-year-old midfielder BARRY MAGUIRE, a second half substitute for Asare, added FC Utrecht’s fourth on the evening with a long range effort about ten minutes after entering the match.
