What is that old expression, if at first one does not succeed — try, try again?

Last Friday, Spanish powerhouse CF REAL MADRID had their bid to buy Germany World Cup midfielder MESUT OEZIL rejected by Bundesliga club SV WERDER BREMEN.

Former West Germany World Cup striker KLAUS ALLOFS, the general manager at Werder Bremen these days, labeled Real Madrid’s initial offer “reprehensible” and reiterated that Oezil, if still on the books come the following midweek, would certainly be used in the UEFA Champions League playoff tie against Italian club UC Sampdoria of Genoa.

That would, of course, restrict Oezil from appearing in Europe the rest of the season with any club other than for Werder Bremen. So, Real Madrid merely submitted another offer for the 21-year old midfielder, which was duly accepted.

“It went well, simply because more money was offered,” explained Allofs.

According to the daily newspaper AS Madrid, Werder Bremen will bank a transfer fee of 15 million Euros from Real Madrid for the playing contract of Oezil.
