Experienced international and team captain SAMAT SMAKOV slotted home a penalty kick past Nigeria World Cup goalkeeper VINCENT ENYEAMA halfway through the second session as the kings of Kazakhstan, FC AKTOBE, defeated the champions of Israel, FC HAPOEL TEL AVIV, by the minimum scoreline at the Aktobe Central Stadium.
Smakov, a 32-year-old defender and three-time domestic Player of the Year, has earned 56 caps (1 goal) for Kazakhstan thus far for his career.
20-year-old Israel international striker BEN SAHAR, the one-time FC Chelsea signing who played his youth football for FC Hapoel Tel Aviv, made his senior debut for the Israeli club since arriving on loan from Spanish side RCD Espanyol Barcelona.
