FC Hapoel Tel Aviv (Israel)

Israel international defender VALEED BADEER (10) and Nigeria World Cup goalkeeper VINCENT ENYEAMA (1) celebrate FC HAPOEL TEL AVIV’s 2-1 victory over Scottish Premier League side Glasgow Celtic at the Bloomfield Stadium during last season’s UEFA Europa League competition.
========================================================

Coming off a highly successful season on many fronts, FC HAPOEL TEL AVIV is the second-most successful side in the history of Israeli football having won 13 league championships and another 13 State Cups to match.

The Red Demons, who were originally founded in 1927, did the double last year, collecting both the Israel Premier League title as well as the Israeli State Cup for their efforts, much to the chagrin of their great cross-town rivals, FC Maccabi Tel Aviv.

One tremendous asset for FC Hapoel Tel Aviv is Nigeria World Cup goalkeeper VINCENT ENYEAMA, an outstanding shot-stopper who was voted the award for Israel Premier League Player of the Year in 2009.

Another is heavily-experienced veteran Israel international defender VALEED BADEER, who spent the 1999-2000 season in England with FC Wimbledon and scored his lone Premier League goal in 21 appearances against Manchester United at fabled Old Trafford.

A significant signing is French midfielder ROMAIN ROCCHI, who arrives with nine seasons of Ligue 1 experience (158 games, 11 goals) including his last stop at FC Metz.

The major coup for manager ELI GUTTMAN, however, is the addition of 20-year-old Israel international striker BEN SAHAR, the former FC Chelsea signing who is on loan to FC Hapoel Tel Aviv for the season from Spanish club RCD Espanol Barcelona.
