================================================================
AC Milan players argue amongst themselves as Germany international striker MIROSLAV KLOSE (25) of SS Lazio Rome, who registered 121 career goals in 307 career Bundesliga games for 1.FC Kaiserslautern, Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich before arriving at the capital city club on a free transfer this summer, slowly jogs back into position after scoring a goal in only the 12th minute of the Serie A match at the world-renowned Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the Italian Alps.

Three-time Germany World Cup striker MIROSLAV KLOSE scored the very first goal of the new 2011/12 Serie A season as visiting SS Lazio Rome and AC Milan fought to a 2-2 draw in the league opener at the San Siro.

It took the veteran Klose, who has increased his international total to 62 goals from 112 matches but had managed only four goals in 45 Bundesliga matches for German giants Bayern Munich combined over the past two years, just twelve minutes to claim his first strike in the crack Italian first division.

The aging 33-year-old Torjaeger, who netted a goal last Friday for Germany in the Euro 2012 qualifying match with Austria but failed to score in midweek against Poland, had already tallied on his competitive debut for SS Lazio in the Roman club’s 6-0 UEFA Europa League victory over Macedonian side FK Robotnicki at the Stade Olimpico.

Veteran Germany World Cup striker MIROSLAV KLOSE marked his competitive debut for Italian club SS Lazio of Rome with a last minute goal as visiting FK Robotnicki of Macedonia were crushed 6-0 at the Stade Olimpico in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Playoff meeting.

The aging 33-year-old, who is the second all-time leading scorer for Germany with 61 goals on his 110 international appearances, signed with the Roman club this summer after leaving traditional Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich on a free transfer. Klose had managed just four strikes in 45 games combined the past two seasons for the Bavarian outfit although the experienced veteran has continued to find the back of the net at the international level all the while. The emergence of Germany international striker MARIO GOMEZ, the eventual Bundesliga Torjaegermeister with 28 goals for the 2010-11 season, at Bayern Munich last fall saw Klose relegated to a regular place on the bench.

Klose started up front for SS Lazio in the UEFA Europa League Playoff match with yet another off-season acquisition, France international DJIBRIL CISSE. The well-traveled, 29-year-old striker was purchased from Greek club FC Panathinaikos Athens for a transfer fee of 5.8 million Euros. Cisse, the one-time front man in England for FC Liverpool who scored 43 goals in two seasons for FC Panathinaikos following a transfer from French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille, had a brace against FK Robotnicki on his initial appearance with the Italian club.
