========================================================

A strong showing for German clubs in the attendance rankings for the top 30 teams in all of European professional soccer, then, as no fewer than 11 Bundesliga teams in addition to one 2.Bundesliga side feature on the list.

Spanish Primera Division club FC BARCELONA top the chart with an average figure of 86,000 spectators per match. The current table-toppers of La Liga, of course, play at Camp Nou, which has an official capacity of 99,354. In other words, Barca play, on average, to a house 86.56 % full for each match.

Meanwhile, German Bundesliga outfit BORUSSIA DORTMUND stand second on the attendance list and play in a stadium filled 96.10 % to capacity thus far this season, on average.

Italy’s Serie A Relatively Silent In South Africa

========================================================
Cameroon captain SAMUEL ETO’O (9) of Italian Champions’ League champion Inter Milan celebrates his well-struck goal versus Denmark in the Loftus Versfeld Stadium as Danish midfielder CHRISTIAN POULSEN (2) of Italian side Juventus of Turin prepares to punt the ball back upfield at the 2010 World Cup from Tshwane/Pretoria, South Africa. ========================================================

The top goal-scorers from Serie A in Italy did not (or, in some cases, have not as of yet) exactly cover themselves in goal-scoring glory at the World Cup finals in South Africa although the veteran international Eto’o did end up with a pair of strikes despite Cameroon’s early exit from the tournament.

Italian strikers, in all reality, ought to be every bit as embarrassed as their attacking constituents of England’s national team, who are, oddly enough (at least for the time being) coached by Italy’s 1974 World Cup midfielder FABIO CAPELLO.

Paraguay, New Zealand and Slovakia have never been traditionally-known, after all, to boast defenses of such impenetrable quality.
