Bayern Munich have announced that Holland international defender EDSON BRAAFHEID has been suspended “until further notice”, as reported by German publication RP-ONLINE.DE, ahead of the Suddeutschland Derby with 1.FC Nuremberg on Sunday.

German newpaper BILD reported that, shortly after the Bavarians’ disappointing 3-3 draw with cellar-dwellers Borussia Moenchengladbach, Braafheid had a confontation with Dutch head coach LOUIS VAN GAAL in the locker room.

Braafheid, who spent the last half of the 2009-10 campaign out on loan to Scottish side Glasgow Celtic and has appeared in just three (two starts) of Bayern Munich’s first 11 matches this term, was apparently upset that after getting up off the bench in the second half to warm-up for entrance in the match, in the end, van Gaal choose not to utilize a third substitute.

Still recovering from a muscle tear in his thigh, former FC Chelsea and Real Madrid star ARJEN ROBBEN is finally able to start running again although it will still be a while before the Dutchman partakes in any training with the ball for Bayern Munich.

Good news, then, for a Bayern Munich team that has not necessarily been a goal-scoring juggernaut in the German league this 2010-11 season.

Robben, acquired from the Spanish capital city club for a transfer fee of roughly 25.0 million Euros in late August of 2009, led the German champions with 16 strikes in 24 Bundesliga games and, overall, scored 23 goals for Bayern Munich’s DFB Pokal-winning and UEFA Champions League finalist squad last season.
