R. J. SWINDLE, of course, pitched for the AA Reading Phillies, AAA Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES in 2008. This past winter, Swindle was signed as a minor league free agent with invitation to spring training by the Milwaukee Brewers.
RANDY RUIZ, meanwhile, was the 2008 International League Rookie Of The Year for the AAA Rochester Red Wings (111 ga, 17 HR 68 RBI, .320 avg). The 31-year-old native of The Bronx spent time with the AA Reading Phillies in both 2005 (89 ga, 27 HR 89 RBI, .349 avg) and 2007 (22 ga, 3 HR 12 RBI, .378 avg). Ruiz also made his Major League debut for the Minnesota Twins (22 ga, 1 HR 7 RBI, .274 avg) last season.
Swindle was signed to a Major League contract this past off-season and is still on the Brewers 40 man MLB roster.
